A few months ago, I posted an blog about compliance testing of PoE equipment (or the lack thereof). In the article, I discussed the need for a compliance or certification program that would give end users the security and peace of mind that their PoE equipment will be safe and that it will interoperate with other certified PoE equipment. I am very happy to let you know that the Ethernet Alliance (EA) is investigating creating just such a program. The EA will be holding an open call to discuss the need for a logo certification program and to help define a program that will meet the needs of the PoE industry and PoE users.
