The test plans on this page may be downloaded and used for internal purposes only. The test plans may not be commercialized in any way without express permission of the UNH-IOL.
The PON testing service currently offers the following test plans. These documents are constantly being updated to improve readability and to reflect the current specifications. Please contact us if you would like more information or have questions about the PON testing service.
When testing based on the following test plans is performed, all reports generated will be digitally signed using an Adobe digital certificate. Upon reception of the report, the recipient can verify its authenticity using our document validation instructions.

- Abstract
- In order to create a process for the ongoing promotion of PON interoperability, Broadband Forum has embarked on a PON certification program. The core feature of this program is the verification of PON ONU adherence to the relevant BBF and ITU-T technical specifications by accredited testing agencies. To provide a consistent scope for this verification, BBF developed test plans that are to be used by the testing agencies in the verification process. TP-247 provides a test plan that may be used to verify conformance of a G-PON / XG-PON / XGS-PON ONU to the requirements defined in TR-156 and TR-280. Additionally, this test plan verifies that the OMCI implementation contained in a G-PON / XG-PON / XGS-PON ONU adheres to the practices described in Appendix I and II of ITU-T G.988.

- Abstract
- The Broadband Forum, TR-255, GPON Interoperability Test Plan, defines test cases based on the requirements/recommendations of BBF TR-156 and ITU0T G.Imp984.4. Each test case requires both an OLT and ONU/ONT, and verifies the behavior(s), as seen at the U and V reference points, match the standard requirement(s).

- Abstract
- This test suite verifies the functionality of an ONU device supporting both GPON and point-to-point Gigabit Ethernet with a single optical transceiver. The tests measure the transmitted power with the optical link active and disconnected to ensure an ONU will not optically pollute an active PON network upon it's initial connection by transmitting P-t-P Ethernet signaling upstream.
