The UNH-IOL Delivers NVMe Compliance Software to Commercial Validation Systems

DURHAM, N.H., July 16, 2025 -- The University of New Hampshire Interoperability Labs (UNH-IOL), an independent provider of comprehensive testing and standards conformance services for the networking industry, is pleased to announce the availability of IOL INTERACT to run on commercial platforms for seamless integration for NVMe® validation within a single system. This innovative solution reduces costs and testing time when combined with existing commercial platforms.

IOL INTERACT is a compliance software platform that the UNH-IOL develops and uses to validate NVMe SSDs and NVMe over Fabrics (NVMe-oF™) products, which include drive enclosures, host bus adapters (HBAs), switches, and internal NVMe storage devices. It verifies these products against NVMe standards for exclusive compliance. IOL INTERACT is now licensed for use on the SANBlaze SBExpress-DT5 and SBExpress-RM5 for pre-validation testing, which are PCIe® Gen5 NVMe SSD test systems.

When paired with a commercial verification system like the  SANBlaze SBExpress-DT5 or SBExpress-RM5, developers can conduct full-system pre-silicon simulations to ensure enterprise-class performance for NVMe technologies. This allows extensive NVMe testing to be executed simultaneously, ensuring interoperability among all components of an NVMe solution. This is essential for qualifying users for the NVMe Integrator’s List, which serves as a registry of products that have successfully passed the rigorous conformance and interoperability tests conducted by UNH-IOL.

The IOL INTERACT software is now available for seamless operation on external validation platforms like the SANBlaze SBExpress-DT5 and SBExpress-RM5 test systems. For over 25 years, the UNH-IOL has been a leader in testing storage products, including SATA, Fibre Channel, and NVMe. As NVMe solutions enable access to flash storage over existing transport protocols, testing for interoperability across the entire stack is crucial.
