The UNH-IOL is pleased to announce the 3.2.4.0 release of the IOL INTACT® Network Test Automation Software. This long awaited update delivers our most requested features to our users and marks two significant paradigm shifts for the IOL INTACT® platform: Floating Licenses, and Virtual Machine Support. It's been on my list for some time to write up an entry for some of the advantages delivered through the Broadband Forum BBF.069 certification program. The program is currently the industry's only official certification program for the TR-069 protocol, and has been created by the experts that wrote the standards. With the recent articles circulating from the DECFON 22 presentation from Shahar Tal, now seems like a great opportunity. I'll expand a little more on the specifics from the DEFCON article later in this entry, but first I want to give a small background on TR-069 and the BBF.069 Certification Program for the novice.
IOL INTACT™: BGP Conformance Scripting Made Easy

The IOL INTACT software is an automated protocol test tool designed and developed in-house by UNH-IOL. It supports many protocols above the Physical Layer, and is fully extensible, making the addition of new protocols easy. Support for BGP was recently added, and with it comes several architectural considerations allowing for straightforward use in script development. BGP makes core routing decisions for the Internet. It is unique among routing protocols in that it runs over TCP/IP, which may lead one to believe that developing IOL INTACT test scripts for BGP would require implementation of TCP as well, adding significant complexity. However, thanks to the object-oriented design of IOL INTACT, the implementation is greatly simplified.

Hello, My name is Suzanne Snow and I am the Marketing and Communications Manager at the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL). Recently, Tim Sheehan and I had the experience of attending the Digital Home Summit, co-located at the FTTH Conference in Dallas, Texas. This was the UNH-IOL's first year attending the summit. Tim Sheehan, Operations Manager of Broadband Technologies presented on a panel along with Brain Henrichs, VP of Business Development at Actiontec. They discussed the newest tools for the next generation of home networking, specifically the Broadband Forums BBF.069 certification program and the IPv6 Ready CE Router Logo program. These programs are critical tools for operators and users in order to ensure conformance to standards and interoperability. The TR-069 protocol enables service providers to communicate with customer premises equipment to better manage and troubleshoot within the digital home.
