Communications Intern (summer position)

We're seeking an undergraduate student enrolled in communication or a relevant field of study who's eager to explore the dynamic world of technology through an internship as a communications assistant this summer. This role offers a unique opportunity to work creatively, gain hands-on experience in marketing, and actively contribute to UNH-IOL's mission and vision. As a communications assistant, you will contribute fresh ideas, create content, and research industry trends. You will also be able to grow and learn while improving brand collateral, communications, and events. 

Objectives of this role

  • Contribute to marketing campaigns, creating valuable content to support strategic goals 
  • Monitor trends and analytics to identify opportunities (including video marketing and social media)
  • Provide logistical and overall support for events
  • Contribute fresh ideas to enhance industry and student experiences

This is a full-time hourly position, without benefits, from mid-May through the end of August at the UNH InterOperability Lab (UNH-IOL). The UNH-IOL has been testing networking and communications products in the exciting world of technology since 1988. Fully owned by the University of New Hampshire, the lab receives 100% of its funding from commercial companies in exchange for professional and testing services. The availability of the position is contingent upon funding. 

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Working toward a college degree, preferably in a related field (e.g., English, Marketing/Communications or Advertising)
  • Available to work 25-30 hours/week during summer (flexibility is available)
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills (apply if you enjoy writing!)

Typical Starting Rate: $12.00-$14.00+/hr based on experience. **We offer frequent raise opportunities! Earn up to $27.10/hr.
