Communications Assistant (summer only)

This is a full-time hourly position, without benefits, from mid-May through the end of August at the UNH InterOperability Lab (UNH-IOL). The UNH-IOL has been testing networking and communications products in the exciting world of technology since 1988. Fully owned by the University of New Hampshire, the lab receives 100% of its funding from commercial companies in exchange for professional and testing services. The availability of the position is contingent upon funding. 

For the Communications Assistant role, we're looking for an undergraduate student enrolled in communications or a relevant field of study. Candidates must have a creative side, be hardworking, and seek hands-on experience. This is an exciting opportunity for exposure to work in the technology industry.

As a summer intern, you will not only contribute to fresh ideas, create content, and research industry trends but also have the opportunity to grow and learn while working towards improving overall brand collateral,  communications, and events. 

Objectives of this role

  • Play an active role throughout the day-to-day supporting UNH-IOL mission and vision, positioning, messaging, and execution
  • Contribute to marketing campaigns, creating valuable content to support strategic goals 
  • Monitor trends and analytics to identify opportunities (including email, web, and social)
  • Provide logistical and overall support for UNH hosted and external industry events
  • Contribute fresh ideas to enhance industry and student experiences

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Working toward a college degree, preferably in a related field (e.g., English, Marketing/Communications or Advertising)
  • Available to work 30-40 hours/week during summer
