The Wireless LAN (WLAN) Consortium is an industry-supported organization that works in conjunction with its member companies to provide a neutral test environment and industry accepted test methodologies for the purpose of promoting and fostering interoperability of WLAN devices.

In addition, the UNH-IOL WLAN Consortium works with standards bodies and alliances such as the IEEE 802.11 Working Group and the Wi-Fi Alliance to support the development of open interoperable standards for WLANs. Testing is focused in several areas including IEEE Std 802.11-2007. These tests focus on both conformance and multi-vendor interoperability scenarios.

Key Benefits of the WLAN Consortium

  • Reduce your time to market - The WLAN Consortium is designed to function as an extension of your own in-house test laboratory. By taking advantage of technical expertise, test tools, and test bed, your company can reduce its time to achieve wireless satisfaction.

  • Increase customer confidence - A leader in WLAN Technology, the UNH-IOL is the premier test lab for providing 3rd party verification.
  • Official Wi-Fi Alliance Pre-Certification Testing Laboratory - The WLAN Consortium offers official Wi-Fi Alliance test plans for companies to get testing for Certified N, WPA2, WMM, and Printers.
