The Fast Ethernet Consortium was originally established in 1994. It is funded by member companies who share a common goal of fostering interoperability within Fast Ethernet products and increasing the market feasibility of Fast Ethernet technology. The Fast Ethernet Consortium tests Fast Ethernet (Std 802.3TM-2005) products and software from both an interoperability and conformance perspective.

Energy Efficient Ethernet

Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) is a new protocol which recognizes the growing need to be both energy efficient and energy conscious. The UNH-IOL tracked the development of the EEE standard, which was approved in September of 2010. Please see our test suite page for the status of our latest efforts, or contact us for more information.

A few benefits of membership include:

  • The Fast Ethernet Consortium can be thought of an extension of an in-house test lab and can help decrease the time to market for 100Mb/s Ethernet devices by identifying potential interoperability issues early in the development process.
  • Having a membership to the Fast Ethernet Consortium gives one access to the largest and most extensive testbed of 100BASE-TX and 100BASE-FX devices from more than 70 different member companies across the globe.
  • We also offer a large number of conformance test suites (*including PMD) in a flexible and friendly testing environment.
  • Our testing is done using cutting edge testing equipment as well as our own customized testing software and hardware.
  • Members will receive an industry recognized test report for all testing completed with us.

The UNH-IOL also provides 10BASE-T Testing Services, Gigabit Ethernet, 10Gigabit Ethernet, and Power over Ethernet Consortia.
