UNH-IOL Intro to Industry ProgramA collaborative technology program for bright and motivated students in partnership with the UNH Computer Science Department. Each year, the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Lab (UNH-IOL) and the UNH Computer Science Department seeks the brightest and most ambitious Computer Science students entering their freshman year to participate in our prestigious Intro to Industry program. The Intro to Industry program is a unique program that is designed to encourage students to engage in learning about the data communications industry outside of the classroom for one hour a week during the spring semester. The students have the opportunity to learn about the UNH-IOL as well as have hands on tasks that will supplement their classroom learning. UNH-IOL Students Employees gain exposure to:
Where Classroom Knowledge Meets Real-World TechnologiesThe highly qualified staff at the UNH-IOL have been training graduate and undergraduate engineers, computer scientists, and other students to apply classroom knowledge to real-world equipment and products since 1988. Student employees earn the opportunity to work with pre-deployed and emerging technologies long before they are available on the commercial markets. Engaging with the UNH-IOL also helps students gain and understanding of the data and telecommunications industry as a whole, including insight into future careers. Computer Science Department Recommends the Program"The UNH InterOperability Laboratory is a great resource for
Computer Science students! It allows students to supplement
their classroom learning with real-world experience by working
with the IOL's industry partners on the latest technologies. – Professor Philip Hatcher, Computer Science Department
