What our Interns Say

  • "It's an experience you can't find anywhere else - an opportunity to be part of significant work in the real world - and it's a really good introduction to UNH as well - it lets you know what the realities will be and what UNH has to offer."
    – Peter Glynn - Senior, Dover High School
  • "I really liked the environment - it's laid-back but efficient. It was good to learn that engineering the science are not necessarily as isolating as I expected. The industry experience is something that will be really valuable in resumes and interviews. The hands-on experience was great. It absolutely blew my expectations out of the water - above and beyond."
    – Justin Wheeler - Senior, Kingswood Regional High School
  • "You get to learn how companies run and how technology works from people who know a lot about it. I thought it was great."
    – Allen Latham - Senior, Oyster River High School
  • "I thought it was an awesome experience. The people were intelligent and open."
    – Ben Nichelson - Senior, Concord High School
  • "My experience at the UNH-IOL was one that I could not have found anywhere else. The lab fostered an environment for learning, creativity and fun. One day you are a high school junior and the next you are testing on speed oscilloscopes. It was one of the most valuable summers I have ever had and I would recommend the internship to anyone looking to expand their mind. It really made me aware of how little I knew about the technical world."
    – Kaley Smith - Senior, Manchester Central High School
  • "The internship at the UNH IOL lab was an enjoyable and gratifying experience, with plenty of exposure to a variety of modern networking technologies. Regular training sessions allowed this to happen, as well as day to day work in the lab. Spending time outside of the lab allowed for a change of pace, with a whole week spent at the UNH Electrical Engineering department. I would encourage anyone with an interest in computers, especially networking, to consider this internship. It is a paid job, and a singular opportunity to gain real world experience. This is a truly unique program, and I am very happy to have participated in it."
    – Patrick Smyth - Senior, Phillips Exeter Academy
